1. Set Up Health Systems

Let’s say you decide that you want to lose 15 pounds. While you should certainly aim for this goal, ideally you want to set up a system to maintain a healthy weight. After all, the last thing you want is to work really hard to drop those 15 pounds, and then immediately pack on the pounds two weeks later. You can keep the weight off for good by creating a system that keeps you healthy. For staying slim specifically, you might create a system wherein you work out for an hour each morning, participate in an intermittent fasting schedule, or spend time meditating. Once you have a solid health system in place, you’ll not only reach your goals; you’ll maintain and perhaps even surpass them.

2. Be Quick to Forgive Yourself

While building a health system is one of the quickest ways to ensure that you achieve your health goals, getting to a place where the health system you’ve created runs efficiently is often a process of trial and error. Perhaps you decide to set up a health system wherein you meditate each morning. However, for an activity that involves sitting still, it is deceptively complex. This is especially true if you have a mental disorder such as anxiety or depression. Within just a few minutes, your mind will rebel, and it will take all of your will to continue. Stick with it, but don’t beat yourself up if you can only meditate for a few minutes to begin with. Additionally, you may have to test out several meditation techniques before you find the one that suits you best. It’s easy to have a good streak and fail once than to quit building your health system altogether. Don’t allow that to happen to you.

3. Speak With a Doctor

Before you try to build a health system, you need to make sure that your doctor approves of it. Depending on your health history, you may have to adjust your health system so that you can accomplish your health goals safely.

4. Get a Personal Trainer

When you want to set up an effective health system, but you don’t know where to start, it may be time for you to hire a personal trainer. While you can certainly look up certain exercises on YouTube, having someone to look at your form while you work out can make your health goals that much easier to attain.

5. Give Yourself a Reward

Sticking to a health system that works for you is an amazing accomplishment. To keep up a steady amount of motivation to maintain that health system, you may want to reward yourself periodically. This doesn’t mean that you should feast on a bunch of junk food if you’ve been maintaining your weight. Instead, rewarding yourself may include taking a nice, warm bath or getting your nails done at a nail salon.
