Sam’s passion for coaching started in high school when she started coaching youth basketball and was captain of the sprinting team at her high school. Then specifically developed interest in fitness and strength training after suffering a back injury at age 16 that required significant rehabilitation.
Sam earned her first personal training certification in 2009 and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology from George Mason University in 2013. Since then she’s worked as a personal trainer, specialty fitness instructor, physical therapist aid, fitness director at a reputable country club in DC, general manager of a Pilates studio and general manager at a large health club in Baltimore. Her specialties are as diverse as her work history ranging from strength training, fat loss, pre/post operative injury recovery, corrective exercise and athletic performance. Sam is also a competitive powerlifter with three gold medals for winning her weight class in each of her first three competitions with a personal best total of 402.5kg/~886lbs.
