Do you want to have as much energy as the energizer bunny, or keep your metabolism going strong through each and every decade that you pass? If so, you’re in luck because no matter what age you may be—25, 38, or 55—there are simple everyday ways to be your healthiest self at any age! Learn just what it takes to be your fittest self while feeling better with each birthday you hit!
Age Healthfully, Age Gracefully!
Forget the wrinkle creams, Botox treatments or lunchtime peels, because all that does is serve as a band-aid for the natural aging process. So, instead of fighting off age through a variety of anti-aging medications and cosmetic surgery, age gracefully by being the healthiest you’ve ever been! Being healthy at any age means loving the process that each decade brings on, rather than avoiding it like the plague. So, whether you are in your 30’s or your 60’s, take those laugh lines as they come and treat your body as kindly as possible.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
There’s no better time than right now in this moment to change up your dietary and fitness habits, and there is no better health habit to commit to than adequate water consumption! If you frequently go all morning without so much as drinking a cup of water (which leaves you parched by noon), your body is already dehydrated and it’s time to do some damage control.
Start your morning with a big glass of ice water—not only will that give your body the hydration it requires, but the ice will allow you to rev your metabolism as it’s forced to use more energy to heat itself as it works its way into your system. Get yourself going with a eight cup of water a day plan, and when you do, you won’t just stay adequately hydrated throughout your busy day, but you’ll also create that youthful glow (with flawless skin) you desire!
Exercise for at Least 30 Minutes a Day
When it comes to good health, no one (regardless of age) has the excuse of, “I just don’t have time to work out,” or “I’ve never worked out, so what’s the point of starting now?” Exercise is mandatory for a healthy life, a long life, and most importantly, a happy life. So, if you’re a beginner to exercise, start off at a slow walker’s pace and build your way up to a brisk walk or light jog. Change up your exercise routine by finding hills and rougher terrain in your city or town—that way, you’ll always keep your body guessing (which results in more calories burned!)
Eat a Colorful Diet, Not a Bland One
What colors are on your plate? If your meal isn’t colorful—that is, if your food is bland and lacking vegetables and fruit—than you may notice a correlating low energy level, and expanding waistline! Establish healthy living at any age by starting with the food on your plate. Focus on smaller, but more frequent “meals” that are rich in leafy greens, ‘colorful’ fruits, whole grains, and lean protein. When you focus on daily exercise, plenty of water, and a colorful plate with every meal, you’ll feel younger, look radiant and maintain a happier state of mind!
