I joined Fitness 19 Dublin a year ago and nothing but great things to say about my experience and the results I’ve achieved.
When I joined the gym, I had been working on weight loss for a year. I had lost 40 pounds by chaining my diet and walking on the treadmill at home. I had gotten to the point where walking wasn’t enough and I needed to increase the intensity and verity of my workouts.
I had really bad experiences in the past and was completely skeptical of joining a gym. It just seemed like, once you joined they had your money and didn’t care. They would barely acknowledge your existence when you walked in the door and if you asked a question, you seemed to bother them. Loosing weight is hard enough by itself and having support for the most difficult task of working out is a critical part of the process.
The team at Fitness 19 is truly exceptional. They greet you when you walk in the door. Not a robotic “hello, welcome, have a good workout” but a sincere welcome to the gym. I often compare it to “Norm” walking into “Cheers.” It’s simply a nice way to start a workout.
I’ve also always been a skeptic of using a personal trainer. Initially, I bought a few sessions to really try things out. That was a year ago. I would have never have believed that I would enjoy working with a trainer. Having a trainer has become a key part in my weight loss and strengthening program.
I’ve joined group classes and not only enjoyed the workouts but made great friends. It’s awesome to share each other’s success. When I was getting close to my goal weight, I had a whole group of people who not only shared my journey but cheered me on. It was extremely motivating knowing I had this great gym and my friends behind me pushing me across the finish line.
Spinning with Trish is kind of like a party on a bike. I go for 45 minutes twice a week to laugh, sing, and spin. Her workouts are challenging. I’m able to work at my own pace which means I can push has hard or as little as I want. Trish herself is a ray of sunshine! It’s impossible not have a good time with Trish leading the class!
I’m also a huge fan Yoga with Karla. The class is a restorative yoga class or slow flow. With Karla, I’ve learned to mediate and how to stretch to work out the kinks for working out. Prior to joining this class I was suffering from a pinched nerve in my neck. With Karla’s help, I’ve learned how to stretch my shoulders and neck to give myself relieve. I haven’t a twinge in my neck since my 2nd class.
Bootcamps are also amazing! They’re different every session and intense! Cardio, strength training and stretching all in one workout. Can’t ask for more than that!
Since joining Fitness 19 Dublin, I’ve lost an additional 50 pounds (for a total weight loss of 90 pounds.) I feel great. In my adult life, I’ve lost and gained the same weight time and time again. With the staff and support I receive at Fitness 19 Dublin, I’m more confident than ever that I can maintain my weight loss and continue to tone and strengthen.
